Penn State Lehigh Valley’s Official Enrollment for 2015-16 = 893

96.5% are enrolled as undergraduate students.

49% male; 51% female.

79% of enrolled students come from the Lehigh Valley.

3% of enrolled students are non-PA residents.

19% are adult students.

9% are transfer students from other institutions outside the PSU system.

DIVERSITY ON CAMPUS

PSLV’s minority enrollment rate slightly exceeds 30%. This is nearly 15% higher than a decade ago. (Penn State EIS)

RETENTION

PSLV’s retention rate continues to remain close to the Core Council Recommendation of 80%. The 2015-16 retention rate of full-time baccalaureate-seeking students is 77.9%. The 2014-15 retention rate was 79%. The 2013-14 rate of 81.1% was a rise from 80.7% in 2012-13 and 76.2% in 2011-12. (PSU Factbook)

LEHIGH VALLEY (SERVICE AREA) POPULATION GROWTH

-The current population of the Lehigh Valley stands at 654,000. The Lehigh Valley is projected to increase by 35% from 2010-2040. This follows a combined 24% increase in population in Lehigh and Northampton counties for 2000-2010. (Lehigh Valley Planning Commission)
